PHA uniquely dedicates a Registered Professional Nurse to every member as their claims administrator. This ensures that every member has access to somebody who is impartial and authorised to access their medical records to assist them in some of the more complex or difficult decisions that members need to make.
Where possible, in the case of corporate clients, PHA Nurses generally travel to site for a face–to-face meeting in order to assess and advise on claims and counsel members about their health care needs, educate where necessary and provide decision support in terms of perceived health care needs and patient preference. The telephone becomes a secondary medium of choice with which to contact the Scheme.
PHA has been an innovator in medical scheme administration and has the capability and capacity to administer all forms of health insurance/medical aid, be they New Generation or Traditional with defined benefit limits or a hybrid of both. PHA has full administrative capacity in terms of Financial, Information Technology, New Business and Office Administration to support any medical scheme requirement.
PHA operates countrywide with a nationally linked network using proprietary software which runs off SAP databases to ensure efficient and effective administration of members and their benefits.
